Detour Productions is a San Francisco–based immersive dance-theater ensemble centering queer and POC communities through performance, film, and education. We create works that collide dance, drag, and theater into bold, maximal forms — devising worlds for artists and audiences to inhabit together.
Detour Productions, co-directed by Eric Garcia and Kat Gorospe Cole, creates site-responsive work in unconventional spaces, driven by a commitment to queer maximalism. Alongside our immersive performances, we produce films, host Clutch The Pearls (a monthly drag cabaret), and lead workshops and intensives. For artists, we provide rigorous and celebratory platforms to make, share, and thrive. For audiences, we create worlds to step inside — environments that are as bold, layered, and unapologetic as the communities we center.
