ABOUT THE "ACCESS IN PRACTICE" WORKSHOP
This workshop explores performance craft with accessibility as a core artistic value, embedding access features from the start rather than treating them as an afterthought. Beyond basic compliance, we’ll examine how access can be an aesthetically exciting and artistically fulfilling element for both performers and audiences. Through hands-on exercises and discussion, we’ll workshop a variety of methods—both overt and subtle—to integrate accessibility into performance, whether on stage, in immersive environments, or nightlife spaces. By centering thoughtful design, we’ll discover how accessibility can enhance connection, deepen artistic expression, and expand the possibilities of live performance.
Participants should prepare 30-60 seconds of a performance (either completed or work-in-progress).
